This page explains what personal data Skånehost stores, why, and what rights you have. A shorter Swedish summary sits in the purchase terms at skanehost.com/villkor#personuppgifter.
1. Data handling
To run an account and a server we store basic user details, kept securely on systems we control:
- Email address — to create the account, send sign-in and billing mail, and reach you about the service.
- Username and account identifiers used in the panel.
- IP logs — addresses seen at sign-in and, where needed, at the network edge, so we can protect the service and investigate abuse.
- Which servers you have, plan size, and when they were created or cancelled.
We do not read your game worlds, server files, or in-game chat unless you ask us to in a support case, or we are required to by law.
Payment cards are never stored with us. Card details are handled by Stripe. Bookkeeping records that the law requires us to keep are retained for as long as Swedish bookkeeping rules demand, even if the account is otherwise deleted.
Response-time measurement. On the start page, the hardware page and the checkout, your browser makes a few small requests to our own servers to see how quickly it reaches each of them, so a new server can be placed close to you. Our servers see your IP address in those requests, as with any web request. The result is one number per server. It is kept in your browser's session storage for up to 30 minutes and leaves your browser only if you go to the checkout, where it is sent with the order and used once to choose where the server is placed. It is not used for anything else.
2. We do not sell or share your data
Personal data is never sold and is not shared with third parties for their marketing or other unrelated purposes.
The only third parties that see data are processors we use to run the service itself — listed below — and authorities when we are legally obliged to disclose it.
3. GDPR compliance and your rights
Skånehost is established in Sweden and processes personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have, among others, the right to:
- Access — ask what we store about you and receive a copy.
- Rectification — have incorrect data corrected.
- Erasure — request deletion of your account and the personal data that is not required by bookkeeping or other mandatory law. You can also delete the account yourself in the panel.
- Restriction and objection — in the situations GDPR provides for.
- Complaint — to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) if you believe we have processed your data unlawfully.
To make a data request or ask for deletion, email SkanehostSupport@protonmail.com. We handle these requests ourselves; there is no ticket queue in front of the person who holds the data.
4. Who processes data on our behalf
- Stripe — card payments. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Resend — transactional email (sign-in links, receipts, service notices).
Game files live on our own machines in Sweden. We do not hand those files to advertisers or data brokers.
5. Cookies and ads on public pages
Cookies we need for the service to work — keeping you signed in, and remembering a cookie/ad choice — are set regardless of marketing consent. Without them, sign-in does not work. They are not used for anything else.
On some public pages (guides, hardware, news, and similar pages you reach without signing in) we may show ads from Google AdSense. Google and their partners may then store and read cookies to choose and measure ads. You are asked first. If you decline, personalised ads are not shown. We do not ourselves read what Google collects, and we receive no profile about you from that.
The control panel loads no third-party ad script — not when you are signed in, and not on the sign-in page.
6. Controller and contact
The controller is the person who operates Skånehost as a sole proprietorship / hobby business under Swedish rules. Full identity is provided on request.

Use of the service is also governed by the Terms of Service and, for purchases, the Swedish köpvillkor.
