Terms of Service

Last updated 6 September 2026.

These terms govern use of Skånehost game hosting and related services. The Swedish-language purchase contract — including the 14-day right of withdrawal, VAT, billing, and cancellation — is at skanehost.com/villkor. If those documents conflict on a consumer-law point for a customer in Sweden, the Swedish purchase terms apply.

1. Accountability and entity status

Skånehost is a hobby business (a Swedish hobbyföretag). It is not a limited company (aktiebolag) and not a corporate group. Behind the site is a private individual who runs the service at a small scale, from Skurup, Sweden.

All operations adhere to applicable Swedish and EU law. You deal directly with the person who owns the machines and runs them. There is no separate support department between you and the person who can answer.

Full legal identity is provided on request. Street address is not published on this page; it is given when you ask, for the same reason it is withheld on the Swedish terms — safety, not secrecy.

Contact: SkanehostSupport@protonmail.com. We normally reply within a day.

2. The service

Skånehost provides high-performance game hosting nodes — primarily Minecraft, with other titles as listed on the site — on machines we own and operate in Sweden. You rent a defined amount of memory and related capacity. The server is controlled through our panel.

We do not sell more memory or storage than the machines have. A size can be temporarily sold out; it cannot be ordered until capacity is free.

3. Service availability and performance

We provide high-performance game hosting nodes and operate them under a 24/7 uptime philosophy: the working assumption is that nodes stay available around the clock, and we put maximum effort into keeping them that way.

That philosophy is not a contractual service-level agreement. We do not guarantee a percentage of uptime. We would rather keep a promise we can hold than publish a figure that looks good. Current status is always shown at skanehost.com/status.

Planned maintenance is announced in advance when we can. On urgent faults we act as quickly as we can.

Backups follow your plan; you create and restore them in the panel. They live on the same machine as the server. If you have something you cannot afford to lose, download a copy to your own computer. We are not responsible for lost content.

4. Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

You are responsible for what runs on your server and for what your players do there. That includes plugins and mods you install — a plugin is a program with the same rights as the server itself.

You may not use the services for malicious activities. The following leads to the server being shut down immediately and without notice. No refund is given, and serious cases are reported to the police.

We will contact you first, and give you a chance to fix it, for: content that is illegal in Sweden; deliberately loading hardware so that other customers’ servers suffer; or reselling the service as your own hosting without an agreement with us.

Servers are monitored automatically. We measure CPU use, network traffic, and player count — nothing else. We do not read your worlds, your files, or in-game chat unless you ask us for help on a support case, or we are required to by law.

5. Termination of service

You may cancel a paid subscription at any time from the panel, with no notice period. The server keeps running through the period you have already paid for.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate the Acceptable Use Policy or that attempt to compromise the integrity of our infrastructure — including host nodes, the panel, other customers, or the network those systems sit on.

After a customer cancellation, the server is paused but not deleted at once. We keep it for 30 days and send a reminder a week before that window ends. After that, the content is deleted permanently.

A server that is left running with nobody in it is emailed after 12 days. If nobody has joined 30 days after that email, the server and all its content are deleted. A paid subscription is cancelled at the same time. A stopped server is not counted — turn it off in the panel if you want to keep the world without anyone playing.

6. Limitation of liability

Services are provided “as is”, with maximum effort put toward high availability, performance, and data security. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose beyond what Swedish mandatory consumer law requires.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skånehost is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost game data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected service during the last billing month.

Mandatory rights of consumers in the EU and Sweden are not limited by this section.

7. Minecraft and the Mojang EULA

Minecraft is owned by Mojang Studios and Microsoft. Skånehost is not associated with, approved by, or sponsored by Mojang or Microsoft. We sell server capacity and operations — not the game.

When you create a Minecraft server you accept Minecraft’s End User License Agreement and Mojang’s guidelines for commercial server use. That acceptance is yours. We then write eula=true in the server files so it can start — we are carrying out your acceptance, not substituting our own.

If you break Mojang’s terms we may have to shut the server down even if you have not broken these terms.

8. Changes and contact

We may change these terms. Material changes are emailed at least 30 days in advance, and you can always cancel if you do not accept them.
