Swedish servers
The machines are in Skåne. A short hop for anyone playing from here, and Swedish law over what sits on them.
Minecraft, Rust and more on our own machines in Sweden. Pick a plan, pay by card, the server starts itself. Named machines in Skurup — when memory runs out the server stops.

The server sits in Sweden
Named nodes in Sweden: a Dell PowerEdge in Skurup and server-grade hardware at Hostup in Stockholm. Which one you land on shows in the panel. Nothing is hosted abroad.
Share it with friends
Invite others as members and decide yourself what each of them may do — just read the console, restart it, or everything short of inviting more people. You never have to hand out your password.
Backups you control
One backup per GB of memory is included. Nightly backups are one click in the panel, and you roll back yourself without asking anyone. Disk type and how much is rented out are under Infrastructure.
Started after payment
The server is created automatically as soon as the payment goes through, and your sign-in is in your inbox immediately. Nobody is waiting for someone to wake up and press a button.
A paid server here does not shut down when you step away. The free plan sleeps after 12 minutes without players — around-the-clock uptime is in the shop. You move the world as a zip from Aternos Worlds — we do not paste any link against their servers.
No start queue
A paid server starts when you press start, as long as the machine has room. That is not two seconds into the game. After purchase, Paper takes from nine seconds to a few minutes to set up.
Around-the-clock in the shop
Aternos shuts down as soon as you leave. The free plan here sleeps after 12 minutes without players. Buy around-the-clock uptime in the shop and it stays online.
Zip from Aternos
Download under Worlds, then Import zip in the panel. Nether and End come along if the zip contains them, or as separate downloads.
The free plan comes first, no card. Paid server: pick a size, then checkout.
Peace of mind guarantee: 14 days money back · free move-in help from another host · refer a friend.
No card
Minecraft Java, Terraria, BeamMP or Unturned. Paper is the default for Minecraft. Eight player slots. It sleeps after 12 minutes idle; around-the-clock uptime is in the shop. Renew every 14 days with one click. Catch: when those 10 GB fill up the world gets heavier. No Stripe.
Fair use: one free server per Discord account and per network address. Inactive servers are removed after 14 days without renewal — so active players get the room. More under FAQ, hardware and drift.
There is always a server for six euros. This is what differs, and the numbers are measured from our own machines.
| Funktion | SkåneHost | Cheap foreign hosting |
|---|---|---|
| Location and ping | Skåne and Stockholm. Measured 15 ms to Swedish networks from Skurup, under 2 ms from Stockholm. | Germany or Poland. Measured 30 ms from the same machine — roughly 15 ms further, on every click you make. |
| Garanterat minne | 0 % overselling on the machines, read straight from the panel. Buy 4 GB and 4 GB is there, on a Friday evening too. | Overselling is common and rarely written down. Ask for the percentage — if you get no number, the answer in practice is that there is one. |
| Panel and support | English and Swedish. A human answers, and it is the same person who built the service. You change size yourself in the panel. | Usually English and a ticket system. Try sending a question before you buy — the answer you get is the answer you will get as a customer. |
| Bjuda in kompisar | Included. Three levels: view, control or everything — you choose per person, and never hand out your password. | Usually available, but as a list of permissions to tick yourself. Tick the wrong one and you give away more than you meant to. |
Do not believe this because it is written here. Ask us and ask them — the exact town, the overselling rate as a percentage, the contract and notice period, and whether the price on the site is for the first month or all of them. Four questions, and you need no table.

Pick a size, pay, play. No waiting for someone to set it up by hand.
No gigabyte sold twice. Your server starts even on a Friday evening when everyone else's is starting too.
Discord and tickets. You talk to the person who built the service, not to a form.
Turn on nightly backups with one click. If something goes wrong you roll back yourself, without asking anyone.
Cancel whenever you like. We intend to earn next month, not lock you into it.
Everything below is included with every server, whatever the size. Memory, storage and processor are what separate the plans — not what you are allowed to do.
Search, click, done. We fetch a version that suits your server software and put it in place — you never have to hunt down a file yourself.
From 1.8 to the latest. Your world, your plugins and your address come along; the only thing that changes is which Minecraft is running.
Friends on a phone, a tablet or a Switch get into your Java server. Those already playing on a computer will not notice a thing.
The payment goes through and the server exists. No queue, no manual step.
The whole server exactly as it was. Put back when something has gone wrong.
Open a config straight in the browser, or move in a whole modpack.
The server's output live, and commands back the other way. No SSH.

Sizes with the price written out. Need more than the card shows? Buy extra in the panel — as long as the machine has room. Nothing is recalculated at checkout.
The card is handled by Stripe. Skånehost never sees the number and cannot store it.
The server sets itself up while you sit there. Your sign-in arrives by email.
A Dell PowerEdge in Skurup and a server-grade machine at Hostup in Stockholm — named nodes, specs read straight from the hardware, no overbooking. What is on the right is read out of the metal, not out of a slogan.
The machines are in Sweden. Cheap hosting almost always lands in Frankfurt or Amsterdam, and you feel it in the ping if you play from the Nordics.
Cheap hosting is often in Frankfurt. Our nodes are in Skurup and Stockholm. The button measures how long your browser needs to reach our status API, and shows the nodes' response time from our measuring point — not your Minecraft ping in F3. You only get that one inside the game.
Short guides in Swedish — domains, SFTP and picking the right edition — so you do not have to wait for a ticket for something already written down.
Reviews are only published once a real customer has written them. If none exist yet, none are shown — better empty than made up. The Discord numbers are fetched live.
Discord
Ask before you buy. See how many are actually there — the number comes from Discord, not a sign we painted ourselves.

Checkout, control panel, server console, file manager, and customer support (Discord/Email) are fully in English.
Two ways in, and it is the same person answering in both.
Discord
Quick questions and company
Quick questions, tips from others running servers, and company while you build. Both I and others who have already solved the same thing answer here — often faster than I manage on my own. You do not have to be a customer to join. Do not write anything sensitive here; the channels are open and others are reading.

Technical support and billing questions
Anything about your particular server or your payment. The ticket is private, it does not vanish into a feed, and the answer comes both in the panel and by email. If the server is completely down you tick urgent — that alerts me immediately, evenings included.
Open a ticket
Look first in the guides — plugins, versions, backups and the most common problems are already there, with the answer straight away instead of a wait. If you cannot find what you are after, the Discord crowd often answers within minutes.
Behind Skånehost is one person, not a call centre. Tickets are usually answered the same day. If you hear nothing at all within three days, nudge me in Discord — something has gone wrong on the way.
Same rules as in the terms — written out here so you do not have to go looking.
14 dagar pengarna tillbaka
Not happy? Open a ticket within 14 days and tell us what you did not like, and you get the full amount back — no deduction for the days you had the server. That is more generous than the law requires, and it is written into the terms.
Free move-in help
Already have a server somewhere else? We will help you move your world and plugins over at no extra cost. Open a ticket or message us on Discord — you send the zip/files, we guide you through it or import it. From Aternos: follow the guide.

Every account gets a unique link under Plan in the panel. Your friend gets 10 % rabatt on the first month. You get 12 % of the purchase as credit on your own servers — not a payout.
The card is handled by Stripe, the same company that takes payment for Spotify and Klarna. I never see your card number and cannot store it.
In the panel you see what you pay, when the next charge happens and which card is connected. From there you download receipts, change card or cancel — all yourself, without asking anyone's permission.
Payment happens at Stripe. Your card details never reach our servers.
You open a tab and you are up and running, on any computer.
Want to see the panel first? Say so in Discord and I will show you, or go to the status page and see how the machines are doing right now. No sign-up needed.
Yes. As a private individual: the full amount within 14 days. Open a ticket and tell us what you did not like, and I will refund you. It is written under right of withdrawal and on the guarantee.
Yes, at no extra charge. Open a ticket or message us on Discord, send the world/plugins (zip or SFTP). We guide you or import it. We do not promise an exact time — it is one person doing it. Aternos has its own guide.
In Sweden, always. A PowerEdge in Skurup and server hardware at Hostup in Stockholm. Which one you got shows in the panel.
I cannot promise you a ping, because it is mostly decided by your own connection. What I can tell you is what we measure ourselves: 44–64 ms
from our measuring point in Stockholm to the game servers. That number includes Minecraft's own handshake and is therefore higher than pure network time — if you are in Skåne on fibre, your number will be lower. If you want to know for certain, ask in
Discord and we will test it together.
HS-1 in Skurup is a Dell PowerEdge 1950 with an Intel Xeon. VPS-1 in Stockholm is an AMD EPYC (Rome) with four cores. Model, cores and clock speed are on the hardware page — read straight from the hardware. The mini PC (HS-2) is out of service.
Minecraft mainly uses one core, so that is the number that matters. Paid servers usually go to the Stockholm node first. Everything is kept up to date on
the hardware page.
In the panel, under your server: enter their email address and choose how much they may do. Three levels:
No level may invite more people or reinstall the server — you keep that control. They get their own account with their own password, so you never have to hand out yours. Change your mind and you remove them with one button, and their access ends immediately.
Processor, memory, disks and how much of each machine is rented out are on the hardware page. The numbers are read from the machines every five minutes. Nobody types them in by hand, so they cannot go stale without it showing.
As soon as Stripe says the payment went through, the server starts being set up. On Paper we have measured the time from the server being created until we send start: from nine seconds to a few minutes. That is not the same as being able to join, and Rust takes longer. Sign-in arrives by email. No number is a promise.
Yes. Download the zip under Worlds on Aternos and import it in the panel. We do not log in to Aternos for you. Step by step is in the guide.
Yes, and the server stays where it is. The limits are rewritten in place, so the address, the ports, your plugins and your world are exactly as before — only bigger. You do it yourself under Plan or Shop in the panel, as many times as you like. The only thing that stops you is if the machine the server sits on is full; then we move it. The difference for the rest of the month is billed straight away. If you want to go down a size, say so — then we need to work out what gets refunded.
The server is paused. If a renewal does not go through you have seven days to pay — then it is unlocked at once. If it is not paid it is deleted after those seven days, so the memory can go to someone who pays. If you cancel yourself the world is kept for thirty days, with a reminder a week before.
The usual thing in this industry is to sell a machine with 32 GB as 60. It works out almost always, because most servers rarely use everything they pay for. But on a Friday evening when everyone is online at once, it gets slow for all of them.
Skånehost never puts in more than actually fits. That means fewer customers per machine, and that sometimes I have to tell you a size is sold out. You can check the arithmetic yourself on the hardware page.
You choose that yourself when ordering: Paper, Purpur, Vanilla, Fabric, NeoForge or Forge. Paper is the default and works for most people. It is fast and takes almost every plugin. You have access to all the files and can swap the jar yourself if you would rather.
The server is shut down, but it is not deleted at once. If payment fails you have seven days. After a cancellation, thirty. Within that time you can pay or restart the subscription, or download a copy. After that it is gone for good.
Yes. Upload it in the file manager. If it is too large for that, send it to me and I will put it in for you. It costs nothing.
You do not outgrow us. Raise the size under Plan, or buy more memory, CPU and storage under Shop, as many times as you like. The address and the world stay. The only stop is if that particular machine is full — then we move the server to the next node, you do not move to another host.
Crypto mining, denial-of-service attacks, botnets and spam lead to immediate suspension. To detect that, processor, traffic and how many people are online are monitored. Your worlds, your files and your chat are never read. The full list is in the terms.
So that new communities and groups of friends can get started without a card. It is the same hardware and the same panel as paid — but capped: 2 GB, 10 GB disk, a Discord requirement, one server per person, and renewal every 14 days. Free takes what is left over; paid reserves its spot.
You have to click Renew in the panel (or Renew in Discord) at least every 14 days. Playing does not count. Three days before, a reminder is sent by email — and a DM if Discord is linked. Without renewal the server is deleted so the spot goes to someone actually playing. The 24/7 add-on is exempt.
Max one free server per Discord account and per network address. VPN/proxy may be refused at creation. Rate limits against spam. Inactive ones are cleared after 14 days. It is also written in the terms.
No. We do not promise "unlimited" memory. Paid gets guaranteed resources — what is on the card is what you get. How much is rented out versus the total is shown live on the hardware page. If a package does not fit, it cannot be ordered.
The website and panel sit behind Cloudflare. In front of the game ports there is a filter that limits how many connections the same sender can open — that stops the usual small attacks. Against an attack that fills the whole line it does not help; that needs scrubbing at a data center, and I am not buying that in. It is written out under infrastruktur and on the hardware page — better to say so now than when it breaks.
På the status page — nodes, website and panels, updated continuously. No sign-up. The hardware specs and how much is rented out are on the hardware page.
The numbers are the same as in checkout. The claims can be checked on the hardware page. The guides are the steps. This is why the steps look the way they do.
Minecraft
The same suggestion checkout puts on the slider. 3 GB for a group of friends on Paper, 6 GB as the floor for a modpack.
How we run it
Oversubscription is why other people's servers hitch at seven. That is how you check the numbers on the hardware page.
How we run it
Not swap that hitch silently. A red line, and you know you need more — or less load.
If you are unsure, ask first. I answer myself, and I am not trying to talk you into anything.
